October 22nd 2011 - The North Umpqua Foundation's Annual Meeting will be held in The Library at Steamboat Inn.

June 29, 2011 - We're happy to announce that the foundation now has an online store. We have official TNUF sweatshirts, t-shirts, fishing shirts and hats. So, buy a hat or shirt and help support conservation on the North Umpqua.

Dan's book coverJune 29, 2011 - A beautiful collection of North Umpqua images is available in the book " Dan Callaghan's North Umpqua." Dan was a founding member of the North Umpqua Foundation and an amazing photographer. The limited edition is available directly from Mary Kay Callaghan at www.callaghanpublishing.com. The trade edition is also available from Steamboat Inn and other enlightened outlets. All profits from the sales of Dan's book go to the foundation - Thank you to Mary Kay.

 

October 23rd 2010 - The North Umpqua Foundation's Annual Meeting was held in The Library at Steamboat Inn.

The winning bidder for the 101 Green Butt Skunks fly plate was announced at the meeting. The winning bid of $6,300 came from a small group of anglers who want to use the magnificent collection to continue to promote the cause of TNUF. Congratulations and thanks from all at TNUF.

101 Green Butt Skunks Collection

August 18, 2010 - Ms. Kelly Crispen received two scholarship awards from The North Umpqua Foundation while studying for her graduate degree at the University of Montana which she received in the spring of 2010. Her thesis project involved a retrospective analysis of the ecology of salmonid fishes in the Umpqua River. The multifaceted study utilized historical data and current scientific assessment to provide a restoration recommendation for the Umpqua system. Ms. Crispen is currently employed by the Pacific Rivers Council, a conservation oriented nonprofit organization, which is performing an intensive study of the river with the goal of increasing the protection of the resource.

Dan Callaghan

Dan Callaghan Memorial Fly Plate To Be Auctioned in 2010. The North Umpqua Foundation and Royal Treatment Fly Fishing announce they will auction a one-of-a-kind fly plate holding a collection of Green Butt Skunks from 101 tiers and an original Dan Callaghan photograph in October of 2010.  All proceeds will benefit conservation projects sponsored by The North Umpqua Foundation (TNUF).

Over three years in the making, this collection will contain flies from such noted anglers and tyers as Alec Jackson, Lani Waller, Polly Rosborough, Ed Haas, Frank Moore and, of course the Green Butt Skunk's creator, Dan Callaghan.

The “Dan Callaghan Memorial Fly Plate – 101 Green Butt Skunks” will be touring fly fishing venues in the Northwest during the spring and summer of 2010.
